Yet again ignoring Muzzin's ability to get the puck to the forwards. More like you're stuck in 2004 and think a non PP specialist defensemen are all Derian Hatcher. And predictably crying about sexual

this is hockey talk morri, there wouldn't be any homos around here.  let the man speak!

You take that back right now There are not many things in the world I hate more than the sabres

Do you have any examples?

i mean, i dunno why all of a sudden we're pretending like we don't know who's been talked about literally, and it has honestly been pretty close to literally, every single weekday on tsn and sportsnet for the past two years.

lebrun, bobby mac, dregs, etc, etc, all have connected kapanen as being sought after by multiple teams with defensemen to spare.  he would be the centerpiece coming from the leafs with possible other supporting pieces.  they don't usually name specific names, but we all know the possibilities.   every insider has tied kapanen to every team that has sought to make a deal with the leafs, AND have *all* expressed the idea that kapanen has high value league wide.

And also the reason why we should start a "Fire Shanahan" thread.

what would you expect him to say?   i don't support the people i've hired?   even if he were assessing them internally, you only say that publicly if a firing is coming.

We'd rather just pretend we forgot what was previously mentioned because we're angry and it doesn't fit the current narrative.

Marner isn't going anywhere.

Marner was guilty of "over-trying" to live up to his contract and made mental errors that sometimes cost the leafs.

Every player in the league makes mistakes that cost their team. Every single player.

That's how goals are scored.

He will figure it out long before the fans will.

What a stunning  pantload. If that was Marner (who self admitted not being engaged in a qualifying round game) over trying, I'd be scared to see what effort looks like.

Nobody thinks Marner can't rebound. Nobody.  Not a single fucking person except Debaser but he says that about all the players.

If you woke up to a deal similar to Johansen for Jones tomorrow and Marner was the player going back, how fucking excited would you be?  Now you people need to stop acting like we ran over your dog with a fucking lawnmower with dull blades and realize the potential return we could be talking about that would improve this organization's on ice product by tenfold.

To be fair Marner said he wasnt engaged with the physicality in game 1, fine point I know but it's accurate to the actual quote.

Marner multiple times this season after poor performances has talked about how he wasn't into it that game. The fact he wasn't ready for Game 1 after 5 months off is mind-boggling.

I understand the vitriol, but "not engaged" can mean different things to different people.

I'm not convinced it meant he "wasn't trying" or "didn't care". You don't get to the NHL by not caring.

And ya. I'd do Marner for Jones straight across. Not because of anything Marner has said or done but because leafs need a guy like Jones more than they need a Marner with the current team makeup.

Every team would, because every team does, regardless of their make up.  Legit #1 D are far more valuable and hard to acquire than first line wingers, especially assist heavy wingers, no matter how good they are at setting guys up.

Anything is possible if you lie.

I'm only here anyway for blistering 'hockey content' like how Dubas sits down to pee and is a soyboy. You know, real relevant on-ice stuff like that, that in no way is a peek into a weak and deeply underdeveloped mind. Or several weak and deeply underdeveloped minds, actually.

Dumb and intellectually dishonest. JD is arguing on your side and he's the dumbest motherfucker ever. And not one of you recks on that.

You dumb dumb dumb motherfuckers. Crack on Luddites.

I still believe in this group.

They need to put the work in on the ice and the front office to make sure this opportunity isn't wasted.

It would be nice if one (or both) of the dmen they took in the first round the last couple of years actually blossomed into a top 4 dman.

The team could sure use a boost like that.

We get it, you have absolutely nothing to add here.  It was abundantly clear the first time you plopped this out, almost word for word, on the last page.

Do us a favor and keep your petty, grade school level insults, your feeble attempts to label people, and your increasingly desperate pleas for attention confined to the Night Owls/General Discussion section.  No point in stinking up the hockey threads.

Off you go.

It’s clear you miss him.

Its also clear that hangin W’s on uteck was the extent of your, uh-hum, talents.

What to do when your only maneuver is being a dick, and now it’s gone limp?  At least AM is still around, I guess..

I'm not here for Jodi's pleasure...fuck that.

Curious to see if anyone agrees with this.

Not sure that I do.  The only guys currently on the leafs that play with grit are Hyman and Muzzin.  Safe to say they’ve played that way since joining the league.   The closest I could get was Kapanen for about 2 1/2 weeks this season before the shutdown.  Looked like he was showing signs of adding that element, but the playoff no-show would seem to douse that notion.

Couldnt really come up with any past leafs that “became” gritty players, either.

Can you actually develop grit?
